Implantation or period?

My period is supposed to start tomorrow but I think I started today, although I don’t have any cramps which I always do and it’s dark brown, creamy and very light flow, which is also unusual. Im always on time. I took a test yesterday and it was negative but could I have implantation bleeding or just an early period?
