I prefer “Lena” as a spelling but I know in English it is pronounced as Lee-na. We don’t live in an English speaking country but hubby is American and we are in the US often.

Lena is Lehna, which is what you like. Spell it how you like it.

The Lena I know in the US pronounces it Lay-nuh. I think it's one of those names where whichever way you pronounce it you're going to have to correct people, since there are multiple valid pronunciations. I think if that's the spelling you love, it'd be fine. If you don't want her to have to mess with correcting people half the time though, I think Laina is the best alternative.

Yes my daughters name is Lena. Pronounced Leh-na. If you've ever watched sisterhood of the traveling pants the way Lena's Greek grandma pronounces it. Not Leena. I always have to correct every one..

I know someone named Lene. And she pronounces it Layna. It’s difficult because she has to correct everyone to pronounce it correctly.
