At 28 weeks, I measured 25, and was sent for a growth scan. I thought nothing of it, the OB assured me all was well and she was just tiny.

29 weeks exactly I go for my growth scan, and they discovered absent end doppler flow, my placenta was failing. I was sent to a hospital with a level 3 NICU and told I would deliver no later than 34 weeks.

29 weeks and 3 days, January 25th, baby Reagans heart began to decelerate repeatedly, so I was brought in for a C Section, as they said she wouldn't tolerate labor.

90 minutes later, at 3:44 pm, sweet baby Reagan Grace came screaming into the world weighing 2 lbs 2 oz, and off to the NICU she went while I was stitched up, complicated as I needed a classical cut because I was so small.

Today I was discharged. Today I left my daughter in a hospital an hour and a half away. Today Ive cried because my body failed to do the one thing it shouldve done. And so I sit at home with empty arms, loving my other two kiddos and continuing to pray for her well being.

Reagan has dropped 130g and gained back 25, which is miraculous in such a short time.

She now weighs 1 lb 14.2oz. She is taking breast milk a little at a time through her feeding tube, as well as IV nutrition. She went on the UV lights for jaundice, but came off after one day. Also miraculous. She is on CPAP but coming slowly off of it.

Today I grieve te loss of what I thought would be her birth, and am slowly learning to celebrate the little victories.
