So my boyfriend is amazing, although he told me the other day along the lines of "I don't hate all white people, I just hate the ignorant ones" and this was said when I pointed out this little girl who had pretty thick blonde hair. He specifically said "no she doesn't because she's white"... He also says "black people are beautiful" (I'm black) but get this... He's mixed... part white, part black, part Puerto Rican. So him saying this came off as an... Excuse me? kinda moment.

I don't know if it's self hate, ignorance or what. I need help understanding this.
