Next step?
I’ve been off birth control since November. I have yet to have any signs of a period coming anytime soon. I recently had my first experience with a ruptured ovarian cyst which was terrible. I followed up with my gyno NP and after labs and an Ultrasound it was suggested that I may have PCOS which makes sense(very irregular period before bc 12 years ago). The NP mentioned possibly starting on metformin after 6 months of trying on my own during my appointment. Recently I got a call from the office saying after further review my labs and ultrasound, she didn’t want me on metformin or anything for one year. Just try for one year and see what happens. I understand this is a process and it may not happen quickly but I feel like I am wasting time. If you know that I’m not having periods then you know I’m not ovulating which means I’m not going to get pregnant as hard as I may try to. I may just be impatient, but I want to get a jump start on this process. Should I look about switching doctors? Is waiting a year the normal? Is there anything I can do to better my chances at getting pregnant in the mean time?
