TMI

My period is 3/4 days early. Usually my period is on time or late. I’ve never had one early! At least not since I’ve began tracking over 6 months ago. After I had my daughter, my period had been rather on the light side (it always has been), only mild cramping the first day & I rarely ever have clots.

Today, AF visited. I went to the bathroom this morning & only noticed I started because of blood on the TP (TMI, sorry!). All day today I’ve had awful lower back pain, like how I felt in early labor. I’ve been having really bad period cramps in the front & in my back, again, like how I felt in labor. They’ve been so bad that when I got home from work I realized how bad they were & cried while (TMI) sitting on the toilet, then leaning over the sink & then in a fetal position in bed. My boyfriend rubbed my lower back firmly & that helped the pain until he stopped.

I did track sex 3 days before ovulation, one ovulation day, and one day after ovulation day. Today, I’ve noticed I have had SO many clots. Every time I wipe, (TMI!) there are dark, snotty-like clots.

Unfortunately, I guess my questions are:

1) is this normal? Like I’ve stated before, my periods are usually polar opposite of these. When I was younger, I recall having awful periods, but not within the past few years.

2) From the sounds of it, could this be a early on miscarriage?

If the pain and clotting persists into tomorrow I plan on calling my OB & asking some more information. I was recently cut off on my insurance, so I am trying to avoid going in if this seems like a normal period! I should also note that my period this time around is VERY heavy. I’ve been filling a super tampon every hour! Not sure if this is normal????
