My ex boyfriend of 4 years who I used to love very much now turns me off. We’ve been hanging out again... he’s 34 years old making 3k-3500 max (on a “great month”). He can barely afford his own groceries and so he loses weight. He genuinely struggles. His bills are like.... 2600 per month not including gas and groceries and well anything else. No vehicle. Never had his own place. (Always lived with someone else).

There’s another guy I met who’s 43, making 5k per month but at least owns a home and a car.

I don’t picture myself ever marrying a struggling man. What about kids? Travel? A family? I want to travel so badly with my boyfriend/hubby. I hear these things all about leaving a man who then ends up making it. You’ll be left looking stupid. I don’t want to be that girl. I am just so turned off and scared to move forward with a broke man. Oh boy. I promise I’m not shallow. Money is NOT the most important thing to me.. but holy does it matter. Am I a gold digger? Should I be more focused on making my own money?
