Spotting on the shot?

It’s getting really close to my next shot of Depo and every now and then I spot a bit and I’ve been having cramps. Is this normal or can someone give me some sort or explanation?

I experienced that too while on the depo. I got the shot 3 times so I was on it 9 months. The first time I got the shot, I bled for 4 weeks straight till I got my second shot. The second time I bled for 2 weeks straight which the again ended with the third shot. The last time I bled was about 5 days then spotting for a week which ended once again. I ended up switching to the implant (on it for about a month now) and I already love it
