Levi 40+3

Kaity
If you saw me Sunday morning and told me I would have my baby that night, I would have laughed in your face. "He's never coming out" is what I said to the woman who runs my older childrens Sunday school when she asked why I was still pregnant. After church, my family had brunch with my sister and her kids, where I felt no pain. Not one single contraction. After brunch I told my sister I would see her at my moms for dinner, but we had to stop at the supermarket first. She laughed and said "if you don't have that baby!". In the checkout line at the supermarket, I got my first contraction. 3:15 pm. The next contraction came soon after, and by the third I figured I should maybe time them. 6 minutes apart, and getting closer together with each one.
At 4:45 I'm at 5 minutes apart and they're strong.  I call the dr and tell her I'm coming in, real or not, because it feels very real. 6:15 we get to the hospital and I'm 4 cm dilated. I get the epidural (which is a horror story I don't want to go into) at 6:45 and I'm sitting nice. My water broke on its own at 7:30. I text my sister and my brother to tell them we are on our way, when I feel the urge to just open my knees a little. I call the nurse and say that I don't feel the need to push, but I need to open my legs to get comfortable, and she lifts my knee and practically drops it back down saying that his head is practically out already.
Mad dash around the delivery room to get everything in place. "Ok, go ahead and give just a tiny push".  "One two ok his head is out! A little suction push one more little and we can get the shoulders". "One two shoulders are out! Beautiful! No stitches! "
