Question

After a miscarriage did y’all wait the full one cycle the doctor recommended or did you try immediately? Why or why not? Everything I’ve read is very conflicting 😐 we’re ready to start trying and would love to start trying for our rainbow 🌈 but I’m trying to go the safest route.

I had a D&C at the beginning of January and was given the ok to start trying again 2 weeks after. My doctor said there aren’t any increased risks with not waiting for my first period, ill just need an early dating scan if I do get pregnant. I’m just now finally getting positive OPKs today.

We miscarried 12/10. We didn’t want to wait so I started tracking my ovulation as soon as the bleeding stopped and I didn’t ovulate again until 1/14. I’m now 4 weeks pregnant. Seeing how I know my ovulation date its easy for me to know my due date. I think if your ready emotionally and physically then you should go for it.

We waited one cycle, but from what I’ve read it seems that recent studies have demonstrated it’s perfectly safe to not wait, doctors/midwives generally still recommend waiting a cycle just for the purpose of dating a new pregnancy accurately. But I’m sure that might vary based on individual circumstances.

My OB said I could start trying as soon as I felt ready. I had a MMC on 1/9 and a D&C on 1/10. She didn’t mention anything about waiting a certain number of cycles after my exam on 1/21. A lot of what I read for waiting for a cycle is for dating purposes only.

I wound up conceiving again right after mine. Not necessarily trying but I had stopped tracking since I didn’t know if I would ovulate on time after a miscarriage. Sadly that pregnancy also ended in miscarriage. I’ve now waited one cycle and will try again when I ovulate next. I think everyone is different though and likely also depends on how far along you were! 
My second miscarriage I was 9 weeks and I waited the cycle to ensure everything passed. Hopefully I get a sticky baby this time around 🙏🏻 good luck to you!

Waited but that was mostly because it was pretty rough on my body, and I felt like my vagina had been beaten with a hammer for almost two weeks afterwards. We're still trying, and I feel like not trying right away lifted some strain off of our stress levels!
