TV???

Question

Anyone else let their little one watch TV? 
I feel so guilty about letting her watch baby shows while I do her ready or something. It’s only ever like 20 - 30 minutes and it’s shows like Little Baby Bum on Netflix. 
I feel like a terrible mom!

You aren’t a terrible mom of course!! But you should stop doing it. I know a bunch of people are going to come here and say it’s totally fine, and that they do it as well and their kids turned out fine, etc. But it’s a fact that watching any tv before 18 months has permanent negative effects on their brain. So what you are doing now is going to affect them when they are 30! So don’t do it. 
Honestly there aren’t that many things in parenting that are for sure proven to be good or bad. Breastfeeding is good. TV is bad. Of course they don’t die if you do this but it’s bad for them. Don’t do it.

Ha! Sometimes it is the ONLY WAY I can get anything done. Oh well if anyone thinks I’m a bad parent but when i don’t have help during the day and nothing else is working, a 20 minute distraction using the TV is gonna do it.

Me and my little one watch Disney movies together every morning. It’s part of our routine. After breakfast was snuggle and watch tv until her first nap. Honestly I see nothing wrong with it. Every one parents differently. Do what works for you and your baby.

I do certain times of the day for small periods and honestly I dont feel bad. Every mom is gonna have a different opinion because no one parents the same way. No matter what I have on the tv, he watches it for a few minutes and then goes back to playing with his activity gym or whatever toy he might be exploring. You aren’t a horrible mom and don’t let anyone make you feel that you are. I’m pretty sure most of us watched TV as a baby/kid and we turned out just fine. 😉

Only sometimes if I’m sleeping and daddy has to get ready in the morning but I prefer not! I’m sure itsnot good for they’re developing eyes or brain!! Just once in a while it has to happen!

Also if it’s so bad for them to stare at and or watch a tv, why do they have educational programs for babies starting at 3 months like My baby can read? 🤔🧐

I let my little girl watch Mickey Mouse Club House on Disney or Word Party on Netflix in the mornings. I personally do not see anything wrong with it in moderation. Though I am only ok with her watching educational cartoons. I dont want her watching cartoons that isnt teacher her anything (colors,shapes,words etc..)

Mine does when we are home all day bc I have it on where we hang out. But we do other stuff too / during. It's more for my sanity than anything.
