Behind in speech
My child is behind in speech. I’m just wondering if one of the stepping stones is pointing to everything and saying what it is. For example I’ll go to get lo out of crib and lo will point and say “fan” at the ceiling, then point down the stairs and say “light” or random things like that. “Cloud” when in the car driving. He never tells me things he wants though (food milk etc - he will just point) - he just tells me random names of things. Is this normal and a stepping stone into talking more ? (Note: We have been evaluated and he’s only behind in expressive speech)
