Did you tear when you delivered?

Question

I read so many stories of black moms having second degree tears or not being treated properly at the hospital. I’m due in 5 weeks and have a fear of tearing. I don’t want to believe that it’s because the nurses don’t take care of us and help like they would someone of another race but does anyone have any experiences or thoughts on this?

I didnt tear and my son was 8 pounds. I used vitamin e from 28 weeks up until birth for perinatal massage

It just depends on if you tear or not. The best thing to do is to advocate for yourself. They may tell you to stay in a certain position but if your not comfortable you have to say something.

I had 5 children and all naturally and never tore with any of them but everyone labor is different some ppl tear depend on how big baby is or the position the baby is the biggest baby I had was 8 pounds 13 ounce and Suprisenly he didn't tear me

I had a 8lb 1oz and 9lb 4 oz. I tore both times. I had a doula the first time in the room with me to help with pain and positions and still tore. My babies came out fast though. I only pushed for 15 mins with the first and 4 mins with the second.
