My husband and I both military ran off to courthouse to get married. We didn’t tell anyone until after the fact. We only knew each other for 2 months. A year later we had a wedding and we have been married going on 8 years happy with 3 kiddos.

My husband & I got married at the court house but as used their ceremony room & had a close friend of ours marry us. Afterwards we had a reception at a restaurant in a room with all our friends & family. It was honestly perfect, I wish we would've planned it like that from the beginning.

We got married on my husbands lunch break at the courthouse. He was able to make it back with 10 minutes to spare. Lol. Our courthouse didn’t allow phones in which a lot of them don’t. I know a few people who had photographers waiting outside the courthouse so they could do a mini shoot in front of the courthouse. 
He’s military and since our family and friends are pretty much every where across the country we decided on a courthouse wedding. Maybe we’ll do a vow renewal at 10 years. We just celebrated our 6 year anniversary.
