Military breakup; what it’s like saying a soldier; feedback please

I’m still mourning and aggravated at my ex for breaking up with me. He said a lot of hurtful things the only nice thing while he was saying those that he was breaking up with me because he didn’t want me to go to Hell for sinning. Because he was hungry. But everything else that he said while breaking up with he was awful and hurt a lot. He was in the military. Can I have some positive feedback on successful military relationships?
