Anyone here is a grad student while expecting a Mar baby?

I just wonder if anyone here is in grad school at this moment. There is any experience, suggestions, or struggles you want to share? Thank you all so much!

I was in the last year of my Ph.D. with my first pregnancy, so I had to finish my research during the first and second (and most of the 3rd) trimesters, and then I wrote and defended my dissertation with a newborn. IT SUCKED and I am glad to not be in that position with this pregnancy. However, I got it done, I did it, so you can do whatever you need to, as well! 
If you’re still taking coursework, speak with your professors about any accommodations you may require, and definitely consult with your advisor (or any female professors in your dept; I’m lucky to have had a female advisor with children, so she had great advice and sympathy).

I’m in what was supposed to be my last semester. It’s been very stressful because of the government shutdown. My NSF grant will not be distributed this semester and that means that I can’t afford a new baby and grad school. Unfortunately, the last 4 classes I was registered for are only offered during the spring semester and I’ll have to wait an entire year before I can start again. I feel defeated because I was so close to making my future brighter for my daughter and I.

I am now! It’s a little challenging finding the energy to get all my assignments done and she isn’t even here yet. I would be lying if I said I’m not worried about how my courses will go once she arrives in March.

Not currently but I was in my last year of grad school with my second. It was rough for sure but I graduated when I was about 7 months along. You got this Mama! 💪

My friend is a grad student with twins who is pregnant with her third. She is only going to be out of school for spring break then right back.

This should have been my last semester but I’m splitting my remaining classes over two semesters. Fortunately, my professors have been supportive and will teleconference me in for lectures in the few weeks after I give birth as well as give me flexibility around due dates and exams. The upside of being in a woman dominated field! I need to figure out how to be back in class after 4 weeks.
