Membrane sweep at 39w

So I just had my weekly checkup and was 1 cm dilated. My doctor offered to do a membrane sweep to encourage the onset of labor. Has anyone had success with this?

I’ve been having BH all weekend and was up last night forever with them (and anxious thoughts, upset tummy etc.) I agreed to the membrane sweep which was rather uncomfortable but, I feel like things are moving along! I just wanted to know what others have experienced.

I’ve read that IF it works, it’ll work within 24-48hrs after the stripping. Fingers crossed! 39 weeks exactly today 💜
