Starving child?

I’ve been breastfeeding my son for 4 months. For the past few days he would nurse for a couple minutes and fussy at the breast. Today Decided to pump and I got just 1oz. Have I been starving my son? Should I buy formula? I drink lots of water, blue powerade, oatmeal, lactation cookies. 
If I give him formula im afraid i will produce less

What time of day did you pump? I get less than an ounce at night but plenty in the morning. 
It’s probably a growth spurt. My boy went through his most recent one at about 13 weeks. He would feed for 2.5 hours straight at night. 
As long as baby is having wet nappies you’re fine. There’s stacks of reasons they might increase their nursing. Just keep an eye on nappies but seek assistance if you’re worried. I’d go to a lactation consultant before a doctor. They know more in this area.

Always always watch wet diapers- pees and poops.  My daughter gets fussy because my letdown is too fast.  When I pump I get 1.5 on a breast each.... then I’ll nurse my daughter and she’ll go into a milk coma.  Pumping is not a good indicator of how much you actually produce. 
There are lots of reason a baby will want to nurse.  My daughter when she’s having a heavy teething day will eat then just want her fingers in her mouth.  She does not want to nurse for long because it does help her much.

I'm finding for myself that pumps are SO unreliable. I can pump for an hour and only get like two ounces. But i can express by hand immidiately after pumping and get more. I've tried several pumps and sizes. If you're SAHM, try to nurse ALL day, literally all day. Even if it's off and on for a minute or two at a time, just keep trying to get your little one to continue to feed. That has helped me

Ear infection? My daughter had double ear infection and would get fussy at the breast. Swallowing all that milk was hurting her ears.

Both of my babies have been frequent nursers. I call it snacking lol. As long as baby’s weight gain is good, having 6 pee diapers and pooping (some agree, others not on the poop part) then I think baby is fine. A pump is never truly a good indicator of how your supply is doing. Some women don’t respond to a pump well and it could be lots of pump factors like flange fit, how worn the parts are, the pump itself, etc.

Reflux, maybe? I can't pump for shit but that doesn't mean i'm not making enough. As long as your kid is gaining weight you should be okay. If you're that concerned i'd talk to your pediatrician about using formula as well as breast.

My daughter gets fussy when it’s not flowing fast enough!! She is so impatient now that she is bigger. If you are super worried you can always go get him weighed before and after he eats! That way you know exactly what’s he’s getting! I worried about that ad well but my doctor said she is getting plenty, she is just bossy

Do your boobs ever feel fuller and then “empty” after he gets done eating? My son has recently started eating a couple mins less than he usually does, too. But could be many other reasons besides not producing enough. Like a growth spurt, since they are now 4 months. A pump is not reliable on how much milk you are making. Your baby is way more efficient on getting it out compared to the pump. My hand can get more out than the pump can. I do try and take mothers milk vitamins tho. But if you are truly concerned your baby is not getting enough to eat, take him to the dr & have a weigh in.
