My birth story
So was Wednesday evening that I had my ‘bloody Show’ the next morning around 10:30 my waters broke.
Went into be assessed that afternoon and was sent home to see if labour begins spontaneously.
Had some regular contractions that evening but tapered off when I went to bed.
With a bit of nipple stimulation I got things going again in the morning but they just wouldn’t get any closer together ☹️
Called at 10am in Friday and was asked to come in to be assessed and book in for an induction.
Was assessed at 11:30 am and was only 2cm dilated 😩. Was having 2 in 10 mins at this point.
Was given 2 hours for my contractions to get to 3 in 10mins ( if they hadn’t I’d of been put on a drip to induce the labour)
Was being monitored and was so frustrating coz I wanted to move about more, Got to 1pm and that’s when active labour started 3 in 10mins ( I did it 🙌🏼)
By this point I was ridiculously exhausted I could barely keep my eyes open.
I had to get back on the bed knowing that it’s the worst position for me but I felt so sleepy 💤
I was in agony but with the praise from my midwife and husband I found the strength to carry on without any pain relief.
Drs came in (they were doing their rounds)
They said i could come off monitoring as was in full blown labour and to let me move around more.
By this point I’m feeling sick after every contraction and know my time is nearing.
I clamber off the bed and instantly know it won’t be long.
I remember saying I needed a wee and the midwife saying it’s okay to go to the toilet, I remember exactly what I said Nope not enough time!! And peed on the pad I was standing on coz at that point I had to start pushing. It Was involuntary and I bared down and began pushing, the first contractions I managed to get to a Point I knew she’d pop out soon.
Midwife is rushing to get gloves and be there to help prevent tears etc.
Nearly didn’t make it and she told Be to hold her there, head midway out, mid ring of fire whilst I waited for the next contraction.
With no pushing just the help of my contraction her head came out then with a couple of controlled mini pushes she was out and I lifted her to my chest.
