Is it normal?

Is it normal for a near 7 year old to talk like a toddler (when they can speak perfectly normally) and cry when away from their mum for less than 24 hours? (I.e when with their father for the night)

Also mother is still referred to as “Mama” in a very “baby voice”

Child will however have fully fledged and intelligent conversations with me talking normally (I’m “step mum”)

Apparently all their wee school friends act similarly with their parents at times, but different in class?

I dunno, maybe I’m just being a fuddy duddy as it was “different in my day”
