Does evening primerose oil work?

I’m one of those females who have little to none pain tolerance. Let’s just say I had some traumatic experiences growing up. I’m also a FTM who’s having some anxiety just thinking about labor. 
Does evening primerose oil work for an easier labor? And did you combine that with anything else? Please share positive and negative stories.

I tried everything: dates, evening primrose oil (just orally though), red raspberry leaf tea, squats, exercise ball, prenatal yoga, etc. and I had a healthy, easy pregnancy. I labored for 43 hours, 32 of it unmedicated, and ended up with an emergency c-section. Not trying to scare you, but I was expecting a natural, unmedicated, uncomplicated labor and delivery, but it seemed most things that could go wrong did. I’m not saying to expect the worst, but definitely be prepared for things to not go as intended or planned, regardless of what you do to prepare.

I used it with my 1st. I went into labour at 38+5 and had a 25 hour labour. I think all it does is help soften your cervix. I dont think there is a lot you can do to change how labour goes other than just be prepared for anything and roll with whatever happens  getting upset and stressed during labour will only slow things down.

I used it with my first and it didn’t seem to make her come any earlier (she still came past the due date) but my labor was comparatively “fast” for a first baby - though with 13 hours from the first contraction to holding my daughter it was definitely long enough for me. Maybe EPO did help soften my cervix. But I guess we will never really know from anecdotal advice only since I can’t compare that to what it would have been like without. Seems that science has neither proven not disproven it, so I’m taking it again with this baby. And red raspberry leaf tea, too. 🤷🏼‍♀️
