Say it's your name at Starbucks or any other place where they ask and try to spell your name. If it's a boy name, go somewhere with your husband and have him say the name.

Saying the name out loud to a stranger can help you know if it feels weird or feels great. It can also help you learn if people have a hard time understanding or spelling the name.

I tried this with the name Marlowe- the barista misheard and put Marla. And another name I realized I wasn't even brave enough to say, so I figured that probably wasn't the best name for a baby girl

Edit: I realize that people can screw up even ordinary names, but I still think it's a good thing to try just to get an idea of how people react :)
