Is it normal to cramp pretty bad when ovulating??

Prior to my miscarriage I always had cramping (similar to period cramps) during ovulation. The cramping was always a sure sign for me.

I miscarried 1/6. My hcg was negative on 1/14 at my follow up. Have been having some very bad cramping for the last few days and noticed EWCM. Took an opk today and it was a blazing positive!

I had severe cramping about 4 weeks after my miscarriage, I was told at that not all of the tissue had passed and I am sure that was the cause. I finally got a period after about two weeks of bad cramps and now it is back to normal.

Is it normal to cramp pretty bad when ovulating??
