Contractions feel like you're being crushed in a giant vice. Later on when they get worse, even breathing made it more painful for me.

It's hard to remember to my first birth 2 years ago. I remember screaming. And at one point my husband was right outside the room and I freaking out and had someone call him. It went to voice mail and it actually caught like 3 minutes of me pushing on voice only. So that's how I know it was painful. A total accident, but a voice mail we listen to often. For me it was true that the second I saw my son I felt zero pain. They asked me if I wanted any pain meds once we got into the recovery room and I said for my face cuz I haven't stopped smiling. One pain I do remember was when they come and push on your uterus after you have the baby to help with blood clots. Pain is weakness leaving the body 💪💪💪 that's what got me through the hard stuff.

I had both of my babies with no medication, for me the contraction hurt way worse. Just breathe through the contractions and think that with every contraction your baby is moving down and closer to coming out, don’t fight the pain. When it got time to push the pain was gone, the stretching feeling just felt weird but didn’t hurt anywhere near as bad as the contractions. But it’s different with everyone.

Pushing was a relief for me. Probably why I tore with my first because I wanted the contraction pain to end. It’s like all the energy of contractions had nowhere to go so it hurts. When you push, you’re using that energy somewhere and it doesn’t just sit in your body.

Contractions were way worse, but u had an epidural so all I felt when I was pushing was the pressure.
Although, I did get third degree tearing and the healing process was WAY worse than contractions and pushing 😳 it was just not fun. I am praying that with this baby I don’t tear as bad.

Contractions are awful but pushing relieved the pain. The ring of fire was for just a second so it wasn’t terrible. The worst pain I’ve ever felt is the postnatal fundal massage!

The contractions during transition were pretty rough. But the “ring of fire” is aptly names. But by that point you’re so close to done, you hardly care.
