Has anyone got any tips or tricks which might help me to get him to have his medicine.

Are you using a syringe to give it? My daughter has been on a lot of antibiotics for ear infections lately so I’ve tried a lot of different things. What worked for her was to hold her like I would be nursing her with her head in my elbow and hold her arms out of the way with that hand if needed. Then with the other hand put the syringe as far back in her cheek as I can and pull out just a little bit and push the medicine out slowly. If it’s a lot of medicine, I give a little bit, take the syringe out for a couple seconds and then do it again. For her it usually runs right down her throat so she doesn’t taste it much. She cries the whole time but it’s better than when she was spitting it all out. I hate it because I feel like I’m torturing her but she can’t get better without the medicine.

I’ve tried a syringe, medicine spoon and one of his feeding spoons. We have only tried giving him Calpol and nurofen in his syringe though. We have tried a little bit at a time with the syringe but he just throws everything back up including any food he has had. At the minute I’m trying to give him tixylix for a dry cough. I’ve even tried giving it him after feeding him his yoghurt but did not work, he just spits it out.

I have to do it before feeding so the milk sort of pushes it down. When I did it after feeding she threw everything up
