Birth control

I am currently researching birth control options. Last time I was on birth control it screwed my body up and I wasnt regular for two years after stopping it. I'm looking into the IUD (preferably not the copper one, some women in my family have had reactions to the copper one and I'd rather not try it) anyway I was wondering what anyones experience with it and how they liked it (I know everyones body is different and will react differently but still curious) if anyone has any stories of other kinds of birth control they are welcome as well..
