Baby food storage?

T

I have been making purées and freezing them in an ice cube tray, popping the cubes out and storing in a zip lock bag and then putting 2-4 pieces in the OXO glass baby food storage containers with the snap lid (4 oz size) each morning to defrost for lunch/rubber solids. It’s been working great, until now.

Problem is that 4 ice cubes equals only about 2-2.5 oz and my LO is ready for 3-4 oz. That many cubes doesn’t fit in the OXO containers. I considered buying more of them but 1, they are expensive to buy enough to be able prep purées In advance and 2 that takes up so much storage even with our chest freezer. The positive is that I can fill them with 4 oz of food and it fits perfectly.

I’ve seen silicone molds but they seem to hold at most a 2.5 oz. and I’m still in the same spot where I need to defrost something that doesn’t fit well in a glass container, and isn’t the right portion.

Any suggestions? How do other mommas do it? Are there products similar to the OXO containers that you recommend that aren’t as expensive as OXO (only interested in glass, freezer and microwave safe)
