Popsicles??

Question

I gave my LO a couple licks of a popsicle i was eating. Its not a choking hazard because it will melt before he can choke, and its frozen so he likes it on his gums. My SO got mad at me for doing it, saying it will cause an allergy if i share. I told him it's not really a big deal. Its not like ice cream or anything. What do you guys think?

While I don’t think it will cause an allergy, I definitely don’t agree with giving baby any food (even a lick of a popsicle) this early. Nothing but breastmilk or formula, not even water until 6+ months. Their stomachs just can’t handle it.

Babies digestive tracts aren’t equipped to handle even the tiniest “tastes” of anything other than breastmilk or formula at this age. They’re still developing and maturing.

Won’t cause on allergy but his body may be sensitive to the dye plus might cause some havoc on his little tummy

Probably not a good idea, but when my LO had RSV the doc said we should give pedialyte if he wasn’t able to drink breast milk, which is probably similar to a popsicle in terms of dyes, etc, so it probably didn’t do any harm

I may have given my baby the tiniest taste of gravy😂 i don’t think they are supposed to have anything but honestly it wont hurt
