What are your thoughts on the Marina IUD?

I have my 6 week PP checkup tomorrow and I’m pretty sure I’m going with the Marina IUD but just wanted to see what you all had to say about it :)

I had it for four years, way before getting pregnant, and it gave my horrible cystic acne :(

I love how it's set and forget, and much more reliable than the pill. 
Insertion was uncomfortable but not that bad. Cramps and bleeding for a few days, then light spotting for another 7 weeks. You can get spotting for up to 6 months. I haven't had a period on it and it's been 1 yr.  
The downside was that I initially gained 15kgs, and I really struggled to lose the weight. In was able to lose 10kgs with a careful diet, then at 8 months pp it just started to come off on its own. I was hungry all the time, even when I felt full. The hunger lessened after about 6 months, but it's still in the background. I've just learned to ignore it and distract myself by drinking water and tea.

I loved it! My periods mostly stopped, I didn't have any scares. The only time it was any trouble was going in and coming out. I was able to conceive a month after taking it out.

My string deteriorated and I had to have a hysteroscopy to get it removed (basically they had to dilate my cervixand go up and get it with a hook and it hurt like hell). But up until the end I loved it ( I had it 3 years)

I liked it. I only had it in 6 months before wanting to try for another but during that time had no problems and didn’t notice any side effects 😊
