Have you given your July ‘18 baby peanut butter yet?

Question

At my son’s 6 month appointment yesterday, his pediatrician said that we could start incorporating a tablespoon of peanut butter into his baby cereal a couple times a week so he hopefully won’t develop an allergy. I obviously trust her advice but it still makes me nervous! Just wondering if anyone else has given their babies peanut butter yet and how it has gone. Thanks in advance!

My ped recommended these peanut butter puffs from Trader Joe's called Bamba. He said it's like a snack  they give kids in other countries where peanut allergies are rare. I bought Nutter Puffs from Popchips as they are essentially the same thing, my son loves them since he prefers to feed himself. I love them too!

Smooth peanut butter only - I put it on toast for her - she sucks the butter off and leaves the toast 😂

Not yet. I’m seriously so nervous because I’m allergic to peanuts. I’m praying he takes after his dad who isn’t allergic to anything.

Yep! We use Bamba and also mix it in with cereal or fruit. I was obviously nervous the first time but she’s been fine.

Yep! We were told the same thing. We've been mixing it in with her fruit purees. She seems to like it. No reaction here!

Yep! We put it on toast. She loves it, and no reaction. I think I’d be a little more frightened though if we had a family history of allergies.

I plan to give mine very soon after starting solids. If they are allergic they will shows signs after the first eat it (6 months, a year, 10 years). Just have Benadryl on hand
