Do you think I should still get it?

I’m 18 & I planned on getting a tattoo above my ankle. just a rose nothing too big or extreme. I feel like that’d be easier to hide from my mom because she’s against tattoos. My brother has one and he’s getting 2 more same time as me but on his arms because he simply doesn’t care. She told him not in my house even though she already saw the first one lol & she told him that our grandpa (he’s a architect & very serious) won’t take him serious anymore but my grandpa son which is my uncle also has tattoos. I know my mom would be mostly disappointed in me because I’m a “girl” and shes just always on me harder. So I’m debating if I should still get it or not. My mom does the most but I feel like I can just wear sweats around the house or longer socks😭. What would U guys do should I still get it? This isn’t the tattoo this is just the location. She hates them because in the Bible it says don’t mark up ur body etc. I believe in God but the Bible is man written so I don’t base my life off of it...

I grew up in a Christian school up until 11th grade. One of my bible teachers told us she didn’t think tattoos were bad as long as they held a special meaning to you or something like that. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Someone told me (not sure how true this is) that Jesus had tattoos??? They said the found the passage and everything. Again, not sure how true. Lol

If you make adult decisions make sure you are ready for adult responsibility. It sounds like you still live at home which is something to consider when going against your parents.

What ever you want! Your body your choice!Make sure it’s small in a cover able location (it would be where you want it) for interviews.

I'm a Christian (hubby is a pastor) and in our views tattoos are fine. Most of the verses in the bible your mom may be referring to are from the old testament which doesn't apply to us nowadays anyways. The old testament also references a bunch of other laws that we don't follow today either (such as cutting your beard, not eating certain foods, etc). However, after Jesus the laws changed and we now live with the new covenant which actually says nothing about tattoos. I don't believe tattoos are wrong at all and neither does my husband who is a pastor but that's our interpretations. Hope this helps!

My mom was against tattoos for the same reason yours is. For my 18th birthday I got my first tat, which was a turtle on my foot. She knew I was getting it and was so upset, and angry at me. But once she seen it her whole mood changed and she really loved it. She said it suited me etc... point is, if you want one, get one. You’re of age, it’s small, you can hide it if you have to, I say go for it.

Either wait until you move out of your mom’s house and rules or get it and plan on hiding it. From my own experience, hiding it rarely works.
