How long do you let your baby cry?

If you do let them cry and you’ve gone through the checklist, diaper, fed, etc. how long do you let them cry? Especially if it’s their tired cry. Just curious ❤️

It depends on the type of cry. If it’s her whiny cry because she’s tired, I’ll give it up to 5 minutes unless the cry changes. If it’s any other type of cry, I try not to let it go for 1-2 minutes to see if it changes. If it doesn’t, I pick her up and comfort her. I know as an adult I need more than just food and using the bathroom so I know my daughter does too.

Not more than 2-3 mns if I can help it. So many reasons for it but mainly I treat her how I’d like to be treated if I was ever in a dependent vulnerable state.

Like said below, it depends on the type of cry. And if you know you’re baby well enough you know that there are different types of cries. 
Usually I don’t let her cry all that much because when she cries a lot my baby takes in a lot of air & gets really gassy. 
My baby already has a very hard time passing gas (will literally cry so bad trying to pass it) so no matter what I don’t really let her cry for longer than a minute. 
But if she’s like grumbling/whining I let her be until I hear a real cry come out because usually that just means she’s tired or bored and most of the time just put herself to sleep

If he’s tired, I’ll try for about five mins before walking with him and settling then try again.
Hunger I try to anticipate but won’t let him fuss for long if I miss it. 
Overtired - we just walked and cuddled until he fell asleep - about 20 minutes. I didn’t “let” him cry this long. Nothing settled him so I just cuddled. He slept and woke up happy, then I felt better. 
If we’re driving and not far from home one of us will try jump in the back with him and distract him. But it’s the middle of tropical summer here so we can’t pull over to feed in this heat. Better to drive for ten minutes and sit in the air con at home.
