Snow suit?? Does more money equal warmer?

Looking for something to keep my 18-24 month warm in Canada 🇨🇦

We live in Maine and always buy our winter coats and snow gear from either L.L. Bean, Patagonia, or Columbia. We had negative temps here today and I couldn't imagine walking around in a cheap Walmart "coat" 😬 we'd freeze our butts off.

I only know of Scandinavian brands, my son has most of his winter/outdoor clothes from Reima, Helly Hansen, Stormberg, and kattnakken, but my experience is that most of the time the prices reflect the durability and quality if the clothes/snowsuit. Especially when it comes to how waterproof it is, how well it breathes (so it doesn’t get all sweaty) and how it handles being washed in a washing machine.

Were in Canada and never skimp on warm outerwear. Our 6 month old has Patagonia and North Face snow suits. They are amazing. Plus, when he outgrows them I’ll be able to sell them for a decent price.

I don’t know how often you plan to use it, but I bought one for $27 on Amazon for my guy this year and it’s been great! We went out to the ski slopes when it was 14 degrees and my guy was fine with a heavy Columbia jacket, snow boots from Carter’s, a warm hat, mittens, and his cheap snow bib. I don’t know how long it will last if it got daily use, but we haven’t noticed any wear issues after washing it 3 times so far. I think spending money on a good jacket is more important than spending money on a snow bib.
