How do you feel about multi level marketing? If you dont know what it is its how companies like avon, mary kay, lularo, dotera, pampered chef and many others work.

Basically you purchase the products you will sell from the company and sell for a profit and as you sell more and get more people to start selling you move up in the company. They often say that you can "be your own boss" and make tones of money without much work.

I am suspicious of these companies, some are pretty innocent like avon but some like dotara seem...cultish? And some are just overpriced for what they are. I don't mind buying from some of them but I don't think I'd ever want to work for one. What are your thoughts?
