In what grade did you receive sex education?

We got it every year from grade 2 to grade 10. I don’t really remember feeling any type of way about it, but I was super excited when we did it in 10th grade because my funniest and favorite teacher was teaching it

If I remember correctly, 4th grade is when they taught us about periods and stuff like that and then 6th grade is when they talked to us about sex actually. I think the first one in 4th grade, about periods, was great, and educational. The school invited the students parents to come and they had this class for like 30 min to 1 hour. The other one was stupid. I think maybe the problem was that the teacher was not very effective.

If you can even call it sex education... In the fifth grade they split uo the boys and girls and took them to seperate classrooms to discuss puberty and show some stupid video about our "parts". It basically just told us about periods and the difference between our vagina and our urethra and how our bodies can change during puberty. Other than that was the only "sex ed" I ever got. I had to research everything on my own and had no idea about how our bodies worked and how to be safe. Quite sad really. Way to go to the Oklahoma public school system to always going above and beyond 🙃

They started teaching in 5th grade and it went through to the one health class you had to take in high school. I don’t really remember learning valuable other than what stds are, a video of someone giving birth and how to put on a condom. Most of my sex education came from me learning about it online.

I think it was great. The way my teacher taught it was very out there and made us aware of many things we didn’t know about. I really liked the way he thought as if he cared about everyone in the class.

Started with basics in 4th grade and gradually they taught us more thriugh high school. I had extremely comprehensive sex ed in high school and it was a requirement to pass sex ed,  family planning, and a modified home ec class to graduate.

5th grade was the first time. It is absolutely necessary. I started growing boobs and getting hair in 4th grade... kids need to know what is happening to their bodies in an honest and scientifically correct way. It was much less detailed than the high school health class version. They kept boys and separated and my teacher gave us giggle breaks so we could get out the awkward laughter. I'm glad they did it and I hope my daughter sees this kind of education early on as well.
