I was making chili and went to pick up the pot lid. Apparently I had set it too close to the stove causing it to heat up. Picked it up by the handle, thankfully only with my thumb and forefinger since it's just a small lid, and immediately regretted it. 😥 Thankfully it was only a first degree burn. On the bright side, the chili tasted good. Serving it spicy, with some shortbread and cream cheese-iced cinnamon rolls as a contrasting sweetness, at a chili cook off tomorrow.
