2 year old sleeping tips?

We are having one hell of a time getting this little boy to go to bed and even worse to lay down and fall asleep. Any tips you may have please let me know! I'm new to parenting so i can use all the advice I can get!!

I agree with the others, routines help a lot. Potty, brush teeth, pjs, and books in bed is what we do. With that also reminding them its almost bedtime maybe starting an hour before its time. Our almost 3 year old responds better when he knows whats happening next. Maybe also doing a quiet activity they love in their room before getting into bed? Like my son loves puzzles, so when hes still got a bunch of energy at bedtime we might sit and do a puzzle before we read books. Its a calm activity that he loves, he gets the one on one attention before bed, and its one last fun yet tiring brain activity for him. Also making sure theyre burning off enough energy during the day/not napping too late. We recently just stopped naps with our son because bedtime was getting to be a hassle. 100 percent smoother bedtime transition.

Don't let them watch TV, or devices prior to going to sleep. For my son the room has to be completely dark and always have water before he goes to sleep. He thought he was sneaky haha. We also have a routine. We eat dinner, he has a little play time and then it's bath time. After bath I usually try to get him in bed around 7:45 or 8:00pm. Sometimes he takes a little while to fall asleep and other times he doesn't. I think a good routine might help out a lot.

Routine is crucial. My son is 2. When it's bedtime, every night I tell him to give kisses, let's go. I get him his sippy cup. We read a story, maybe be a little silly, I have him turn out the light, we snuggle for a couple minutes and then I say goodnight and leave the room. Many other parents do a bath before bed. (Shower in the morning for us) but find a routine that works, and stick to it. An overtired 2yr old is a nightmare. But a story or 2 before bed works well for us.
