I’ve been taking Sprintec since the end of March 2018. I was getting some weird symptoms and decided to switch and my gyno and I talked and he prescribed me Microgestin. This has a lot less hormones than Sprintec. I followed my doctor’s orders and finished the pack of Sprintec I was on (including the placebo week). Today I started the Microgestin. My only question is, since I’m switching to a pill with much fewer hormones, should I use backup protection for the next week? Neither my doctor or the pharmacist mentioned this and I didn’t think to ask at the time.
