Hi so I’m 20 and I am pretty sure I have vaginismus. I got married last June and I was a virgin until then. I did get fingered before non-consensually quite a few years ago, I don’t remember if I felt pain during that I just remember freaking out internally that it was happening. Anyway, on my wedding night in June, my husband and I tried to have sex and I just remember the moment he tried to finger me it felt very uncomfortable (physically) and when he tried to penetrate, it was so PAINFUL. It felt like I was being stabbed with glass. We tried everything during our honeymoon but nothing penetrative didn’t end up with pain. He couldn’t even get himself all the way in my vag. I’ve never been able to wear tampons. When we tried I could feel like my vagina was tightening up even when we were doing things to relax me and turn me on. I told my OBGYN and she diagnosed me with vulvodynia, however I’ve done a lot of research on vulvodynia and my vulva doesn’t hurt at all, it’s just inside. And from the other symptoms of vulvodynia vs. what I’m dealing with, I really don’t think I have it. I’m pretty sure I have vaginismus though. I am seeing a new OBGYN soon and I’m praying she can help me. My husband and I have never been able to have penetrative sex and I haven’t been able to try again because I think our honeymoon traumatized me a bit and every time we would begin to try again I would chicken out and get freaked out. I’m hoping to find some sort of therapy for this too. Can anyone help confirm if this is vaginismus or not?
