The number one thing I hate about being an law enforcement officer

I came here to vent.

I’ve been a cop a little over 4 years now. The number one thing I can is hard for me and probably many other women is: having to go to the bathroom. I can go on and on about it. First, our equipment is so heavy. Probably sticking together from sweat. When I have to go to the bathroom I’m literally jumping up and down getting20 pounds of equipment off of me, unsnapping, unclicking , unbuttoning, turning off body camera, etc. You don’t understand how many times my equipment have gotten stuck together or intertwined and had delayed the process of me getting on the toilet. There are times when I’m far from a toilet and hold my pee for HOURS, men can go find a bush. Lol I’m thinking about purchasing a female urinal LMFAO. God then when an emergency happens, I have to finish my business and rush to get dress, fix uniform wash hands then run to car. It’s exhausting. I’m not even going to talk abouut pooping. lol there are times when I refuse to eat or drink because There’s a low chance Ill have access to a bathroom.

I love what I do and I love serving people. The next time you see an officer, especially a woman officer, PLEASE thank her for her service and dedication ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for being a superstar! Its women like you that show our daughters that there are no limitations to what women can grow up to be ! It's a very scary time for police officers in this day and age ! Be careful love !!!

Just do what I do and hold it the whole shift! I mean I’ll probably have no bladder control in 20 years but I can worry about that later 😏

They make pants now that have a zipper around the crotch and upper leg areas so you can unzip without taking anything off. I haven’t tried them so I’m not sure how well they work.

Is this something you can rearrange equipment, make a checklist or routine for, or something?

Oh no, it’s designed like this. We just had a uniform change but that’s not helping too much

So I am inntge military and I have to wear weapons and bidy armor and radios and first aid piuches and ammo and all sorts of stuff. I have spent years perfecting my setup. When my radio was in the way I moved it ao that I could don and doff my rig without worrying about the cables. The ammo doeant interfere with a seatbelt anymore. Ammo can be added and removed without preventing me from moving. By rearranging my equipment it became easier to put on and take off, especially when using the lateine. Furthermore, in creating a checklist or routine you can streamline the process of using the latrine, and recovering from it.
