Found out I was pregnant in the ER... Need reassurance

Lulupie

Hi ladies.

My husband and I have been TTC for 19 months. Three rounds of Clomid that I thought was a failure.

Today I started feeling the most painful cramps I have EVER felt in my life. I was writhing on the floor in pain when my husband got to me (he was at work, I had to phone him to come take me to the hospital). I was also bleeding. I was crying and yelling I was in so much pain. And I have a high pain tolerance (I didn't even cry when I dislocated and fractured my toe (in the same incident)). Neighbours must have thought I was dying.

I had taken a Mypaid but it didn't help.

Anyway, I got to the hospital and they took blood tests and urine tests to rule out everything.

The doctor kept coming in and pressing on my lower abdomen to confirm where I felt the pain and kept disappearing.

Then he comes in and tells us that I'm pregnant. Definitely not how I wanted to find out. And definitely not how I wanted my husband to find out.

My HCG is already at 142. I don't even know WHEN I got pregnant because I literally just finished my fertile week and my period was completely normal last month.

The doctor is concerned that it's an abnormal pregnancy, because of the amount of pain I was in. Could be an eptopic or something else. He suggested a transvaginal ultrasound but said because it's so early, the ultrasound may not reveal anything so I opted to skip and will rather go and have new blood tests done in two days time to see if the HGC is rising. He said bleeding is normal in pregnancy which I know, but the cramps I was experiencing wasn't.

I just wanted some reassurance, maybe if any of you ladies have experienced the same thing and had a normal pregnancy otherwise. I was told if my cramps get bad again I must come back immediately.
