Is it safe to skip birth control?

I was just wondering if anyone else has ever done this. I don’t want to have my period this month so I’m going to skip my sugar pills and start my new pack. Will this be safe or harm my body?

It honestly depends. Some people can do it with any pill; some can only do it with some pills; and some can't do it at all. Generally speaking, you should be fine. You can expect some breakthrough bleeding, especially since this will be your first time without a break. If you start experiencing anything dangerous - heavy bleeding, passing out, not being able to keep food or water down, etc. Stop taking the pill and call your doctor.

A ton of people I know do this, especially if they have a special event the week of their period. But like the other comment mentioned, you might experience some breakthrough bleeding as well. You should be just fine!
