So I was at the store today and I was looking at the magazine rack while I was waiting in line. I saw some headlines about Angelina Jolie and her bf Justin, another about Reese Witherspoon saving her marriage, and a couple more. I was just glancing so I didn't even pick them up to see what they were about. I then started wondering how those magazines make money. Why do people care about what Reese Witherspoon and Angelina Jolie r doing?

So that is what I wanted to discuss. Why is it that people r so interested in celebrities?

Is it their lifestyle? Their money? Maybe this idolized "fairytale" that these celebrities live in?

Why do people invest so much time and money going after these people that have absolutely no connection with them?

I think part of it could be that a person is unhappy with their own life, so by focusing on other peoples lives they get distracted. But that's not everybody. What do u guys think?
