Does you daycare provider (specifically in-home daycare) close due to snow?

Do you get refunded for the day? FTM and any advice is welcomed. There is no mention of closures due to weather so we are not sure how to approach this.

It should be in your contract most in home centers don't close because they are in a home.

It was mentioned during interviews. My first and current in-home daycares don’t close for weather. My current one puts updates on the private FB page throughout the day so we know what it’s like in her neighborhood when there is bad weather. One that I interviewed with followed the school district so if there was a delay she opened late and if they let out early she did and if they closed so did she.

Mine follows the same schedule as public schools in the nearby area; its not safe for them to demand the staff drive there. As a person paying for the service you are there by choice, but they can’t endanger their employees by demanding they drive in ice and snow.
We pay regardless of closures.

Ours doesn't have snow days, but does have paid vacation and holidays.  We pay $180/week, and if we go on vacation, we still pay.  You're essentially paying for the slot.

We have an in home daycare and she only doesn’t watch this kids if she is sick or one of her kids have been sick. Our policy with her is 5 vacation days (no pay) for us and 5 vacation days (paid) for her. Our no pay days roll over if we don’t use them.
