Almost broke up

Me and my girlfriend almost broke up because we realized we won't be able to see each other for a year. I'm about to turn 15 and mom wants me to be 16 when I see her. I met her IRL before but mom thought she was a friend till she realized otherwise. Do you guys have any advice?
