Types of contraception???

Hi! 
I have only ever used condoms as a type of contraception, however today I have been given the combined pill ‘Rigevidon’. I was looking to go on something more like the IUD or the implant but it was recommended that I try this first as I have never had any before. Any advice on what is best to go for? Whether to stick with the pill or go for something else?

Hey! i just had the implant for 3yrs, i bled for a couple of weeks then had no period at all thereafter. I did put on a lot of weight though so that was a major downside. I work shifts so not having to take a pill every day was good.
