For your C-Section do you have a epidural or a spinal block?

my last pregnancy C-section it was an emergency so I had nothing for pain. They knocked me out and I woke up in crazy pain. so I was wondering for my scheduled Csection if they were going to do epidural or spinal block. This is baby#3 so with baby #1 I had a vaginal delivery and epidural it wasnt that bad but I have never had a spinal block so a little nervous.

Epidural is actually a bigger needle and is used for long term pain relief drip. Spinal is a smaller needle, goes in lower, and is used for short term but is much stronger than epidural. You'll get a spinal for a planned c section. Sometimes they can use the epidural needle for the spinal meds if the c section wasn't planned.

Its basically the same thing. It goes into your spine just like an epidural aside from that nothing stays in your back.
