Moving forward? Help!

So I’ve decided to press charges against my Rapist. But I’m still really scared/nervous. So if you guys have any tips, suggestions, or positive words I could really use them right now

You are so brave and strong! My good friend recently went through the court process and I was so amazed by her courage and resilience. It is REALLY hard. I was there for most of it. They drag you through the dirt. They try to make you sound crazy, or slutty, or like a liar. They will do EVERYTHING they can to ruin your credibility. They use all the stereotypes about rape victims (“Why didn’t you yell for help?” “You didn’t fight back?” “I think you were just upset you lost your virginity.”). They constantly repeat the “Innocent until proven guilty” phrase. Just be totally transparent with the detectives/victim advocates/DA and try to remember every single tiny detail that you can. Keep it up girl, so many rapes go unreported because of our crappy justice system, but the only way to bring its flaws to light is if more women report. You are amazing, and powerful and beautiful. I believe you, and I believe in you. Thank you for being so brave.
