OB/GYN call??

I got a call from my obgyn office telling me that before I started with a new nuvaring cycle that my doctor wanted me to “take a pregnancy test” ... anyone know why they would say this statement in particular

They always have you take a pregnancy test before starting BC. Its just to make sure youre not pregnant and they do that wirh everyone.
