It’s February 5th and I still haven’t received my W2. Is that normal? How long should I wait?

They have until the 31st to mail them. Google says if you don’t get it by the 14th, call the IRS.

By law your employer is required to mail it no later than the 31 of January. I know the government shutdown hit some post offices hard so things might be a little slower than normal in certain areas but if you don’t receive it by Feb 14 (yes Valentines Day 😂) report it to the IRS. 
Also, if you work for a larger company see if it’s available electronically in your company portal.

Most people don’t mail them out until the very last day which is the 31. So I would wait a few more days then call if you haven’t received it.
